This plant is a native perennial rush.  It has bright green slender stems, 0.5-2mm across.  It is an arching tussock to 0.5-1m high & produces loosely open red-brown flowers.  It grows best in wet conditions in dappled shade.  It is a delicate rush for planting on the waters edge.
